Holiday DIY: Cute Christmas Candy Cane Jars!

Candy canes are one of the most well-known christmas symbols, which makes them great, easy and cheap decorations to use during this time of year!
I'm going to be showing you how to make two different, but similar Candy Cane Jars you can place around your home, in your office, or anywhere else you'd like this holiday season!
The first one is pretty simple.
What you need:
•4-7 full size peppermint candy canes.
•1 mason jar.
•A ribbon of choice. (1 inch width max.)[Holiday or traditional christmas colors work best]
All you'll need to do is first, tie the ribbon around the top of the mason jar, where the lid would usually screw on. After that, place your candy canes on the inside, so their hooked on the jar.
Next jar decoration:
This decoration will be a little more work, but the finised product is totallynworth it!
What you need:
•4-6 Fake or real candy canes.
•Flower vase. (Make sure your vase is big enough for your chosen candy canes)
•Cotton balls
•Christmas tree orniments (small ones work best)
•Glitter [OPTIONAL]
So your going to start off by taking a few cotton balls and pulling them apart. As you pull them apart, place them into the bottom of your vase you have chosen. Until you feel you have enough "snow" (cotton balls) you continue adding them. This is where the option of glitter comes in. If you choose to add glitter, you can put some in the snow just for a more decrative effect. You'll then want to add candy canes inside your vase, hooking them to the rim if the vase. After you put an acceptable amount of candy canes in the vase, you can add your small orniments inside the vase (as its seen in the photo above).
You can place these anywhere for a holiday feel.

DIY: Half Denim High Waist Shorts!

What You'll Need:
-Scissors
-Bleach
-Warm water (sink water)
-High waist jeans (long pants)
-Tweezer
-Sandpaper (optional for distressing)
-Large bucket or use kitchen sink.

What to do:
1. Cut your high waisted pants (you can find many at Goodwill lol) to the length you will want the shorts.
2. Use the tweezers, sandpaper (optional) and your fingers to pull the threads out of the bottom of the shorts. (As you can see in the picture, they are distressed. You can easily do this with a tweezer. The shorts might distress a little more on their own after bleaching them.)
3. Distress any other areas of the shorts you want. (You can make rips in the front, or whatever)
4. Fill your bucket (You can also use a plugged kitchen sink to do this) with 2 part water, 1 part bleach. Make sure the water is warm.
5. Put the WHOLE shorts under the bleach, in an even position. Hold them in there for around 10-15 minutes, until the the whole pair of shorts are a light denim color, as seen on the right side of the shorts in the picture above. (Make sure that if your hands are in the bleach, to wear gloves)
6. After the shorts are that color, ring them out. Then hold only one side (in the picture the right was done) in the bleach/water. You can watch the color until it changes to the shade you want them to be.
7. After you find the right shades, you want to wash, then dry your shorts alone in the washer & dryer. You can use laundry soap, but don't use bleach.
8. After they come out, you can wear them! You can also add any lace or other things to the shorts.
