Relaxation: yoga, bath, and how to prepare!

School, work, or whatever else it is that could be stressing you out really effects. Clear your mind.
Lately i've had a lot going on, and my head had so many thoughts and problems i needed to release.
I was recently digging through my closet and I came across my old yoga mat I haven't pulled out since I was ten (fourteen currently). Me and my mom used to strech and I'd do little streches on this yoga mat.
Anyways, I decided to give yoga another chance, and boy, I'm glad I did.
Preparation:
First I lit a candle. I wanted a relaxing scent to help me obviously relax a bit so I used the London Calling: Tea & lemons
candle from bath and body works.

Then, I rolled my yoga mat out on a flat surface in my bedroom. Using a yoga mat is helps you stay gripped in positions so you won't fall, and also helps prevent unwanted carpet burns or marks.
After, I needed sounds. Sounds are basically what get me through life. Music during everything I do helps me concentrate. But Arctic Monkeys or Coldplay weren't going to help me on this one, and I didn't have any relaxation music on my phone. So what I simply did was go to one of my favorite apps, 8tracks. (Also a website), 8tracks allows you to stream unique playlists.

I searched "yoga" on 8tracks and easily came across this track titled "Time to Relax" which was perfect for yoga in my opinion.
I played this and searched up yoga positions for beginners. This was the webpage I used and found helpful: http://www.fitnessmagazine.com/workout/yoga/poses/beginner-yoga-poses/?page=4 I picked about 6 of the poses on there and practiced them multiple times. I also added a one minute plank.
Whats the point of yoga, anyways?
Yoga helps release stress and emotions that you don't need or want. Yoga also builds muscle, tones your body, and helps you become more flexible in a less harsh way than gym equipment would, all depending on the poses you use. Although yoga benefits you more slowly than weight training would, its a healthier and more peaceful way to do it. There are multiple benefits of yoga, look them up!
Relaxing bath:
After yoga, it's always a good opportunity to sneak a warm, relaxing bath. Using essential oils, rose pedals, bath salts, and other organic and natural healing methods are very relaxing, and will help relax your muscles for future yoga, and post yoga sores.
Use scents you like and add bubbles!

Holiday DIY: Cute Christmas Candy Cane Jars!

Candy canes are one of the most well-known christmas symbols, which makes them great, easy and cheap decorations to use during this time of year!
I'm going to be showing you how to make two different, but similar Candy Cane Jars you can place around your home, in your office, or anywhere else you'd like this holiday season!
The first one is pretty simple.
What you need:
•4-7 full size peppermint candy canes.
•1 mason jar.
•A ribbon of choice. (1 inch width max.)[Holiday or traditional christmas colors work best]
All you'll need to do is first, tie the ribbon around the top of the mason jar, where the lid would usually screw on. After that, place your candy canes on the inside, so their hooked on the jar.
Next jar decoration:
This decoration will be a little more work, but the finised product is totallynworth it!
What you need:
•4-6 Fake or real candy canes.
•Flower vase. (Make sure your vase is big enough for your chosen candy canes)
•Cotton balls
•Christmas tree orniments (small ones work best)
•Glitter [OPTIONAL]
So your going to start off by taking a few cotton balls and pulling them apart. As you pull them apart, place them into the bottom of your vase you have chosen. Until you feel you have enough "snow" (cotton balls) you continue adding them. This is where the option of glitter comes in. If you choose to add glitter, you can put some in the snow just for a more decrative effect. You'll then want to add candy canes inside your vase, hooking them to the rim if the vase. After you put an acceptable amount of candy canes in the vase, you can add your small orniments inside the vase (as its seen in the photo above).
You can place these anywhere for a holiday feel.

Hey! Whats up? Happy Sund-
No. Not really. I hate Sundays.
Okay well it's Sunday. K.
I just got back from being at the Mall of America all day with one of my best friends, and I took what I would say are some pretty cute photos while I was there, but i'll let you take a look:

Tell me you do not want this shirt, because I know you can't say it. This top was on the mens side of F21 but I thought it would look cute anyways.

Beanies are one of my favorite obsessions of Autumn and Winter!
And for those of you who haven't been to the MOA, this is a picture from the third of four floors.

Trendin': Oversized sweaters!

Fall is a whole new season, which means a whole new category of trends!
There are always many of different trends, but there is one trend that I absolutely love, and I always am following. And that trend would be oversized sweaters:
Yeah, this may happen every year during this time, but it's a trend, and it's a great one!
You can get over sized sweaters pretty much anywhere from a vary of different prices, but my favorites are Acne, Forever 21, and American Apparel.
The mint colored sweater I have pictured to the right is from Ance Studios (http://acnestudios.com)
I have found many, many stores that carry over sized sweaters, but overall, Ance is my favorite. Yeah, they are very expensive for most people, but their sweaters are high quality and designer. They are totally worth their money, but still- $200 for a sweater!? Most of you are probably thinking that's a bit crazy. But, It's just an idea. There are many other places that you can get similar sweaters for much, much cheaper prices.
For example, you can find local stores, or big city stores. I found this really cute sweater with the blocked pattern and elbow cuffs at a New York warehouse store, online! (http://ny.racked.com/)
I am unsure of the price of this sweater, but I am guessing that is is a little cheaper than the Acne Studios one. By looking at this sweater, I can assume that it is about $75-130. Yes, still expensive, but it isn't $300, that's for sure!
Other places you could shop at for these are:
American Apparel
Forever 21
Charlotte Russe
Brandy Melville
Top Shop

Music Monday: Lorde

Whey Hey, Whats up?
Happy Monday! Okay, no it isn't a happy Monday. Why? Because it's Monday.
Yes, Monday's suck. I know. But I'm making a new series of posts on here, every Monday called 'Music Monday', which you may have guessed from the title if you have any sense at all.. (i love you)
I'm starting the first week off with one of my newest favorites in the music industry, Lorde.
Yes, you all know Lorde even if you don't think you do, you've most likely heard her hit song 'Royals' on the radio.

Being only 16, shes had huge success with her music career, just recently releasing her newest album 'Pure Heroine' which is selling quickly on iTunes.
I recently got on my iTunes store to check out some new music, and I saw that her song 'RIBS' was the single of the week which means a free download on iTunes for that week and I ended up loving the song! Before that, I had found out about her song 'Tennis Court' which is another favorite of mine.
Let me know your opinions of Lorde & which song of hers is your favorite in the comments! Also, leave some artists you'd like to see in this series!

My Favorites From This Past Summer!

It may be the middle of fall, but I'm still determined to show you guys A TON of my favorites from this summer.
So this summer has been very inspirational for me. I discovered a new style, new music, new icons, ect, and I'm so exited to share them with you!

I made this collage to show you some examples of my favorite things I'll be telling you of!
Something I was obsessed with this summer was ombrè hair, and I love this in any colors. As you can see, I have a picture of it in the collage (top left corner). I was THIS close to getting it done to my hair, but I ended up not doing it because of how hesitant I was about it. I may end up doing it another time, but for now my hair is natural colored.
I'm going to move onto beauty products and such. Just before school was out last year, I picked up a few different beauty products that I could test out for the summer.T hree of those products happened to be the Clump Crusher mascara by Cover Girl (pictured in the middle), Baby Lips (pictured top left), and the L'Oreal Magic Nude Liquid Powder (pictured on middle right). The Clump Crusher mascara lives up to its name. It doesn't clump and it makes your eyelashes look full in a natural way. As for the L'Oreal Magic Nude Liquid Powder Foundation, it looks great on skin and again, it makes it look perfectly natural. Just as if your skin was naturally flawless. It feels light, and amazing on your skin also, which is great for days you wouldn't want to wear a ton of make up and feel it caked on your face.
Clothing.. Clothing. It's the best part of summer is finally getting to embrace your true style. None of those school dress codes or anything! My style has totally changed this summer. I've gotten a more relaxed style, and I've kind of gotten off those name brands like Hollister or Aèropostale. I took a look at Brandy Melville which I have heard SO MUCH about from Youtubers, and let me just say: Oh. My. GOSH! Their clothes are amazing! I know, a lot of people don't like Brandy because of their "one size policy", but for me, being thin, I'm happy it fit me because it's an amazing store. I picked up a ton of cropped tops like the ones I have in the collage (pictured middle left) and I paired them with another summer favorite, high waist shorts (pictured in middle). I actually fell in love with vintage high waist shorts and ended up making my own. At places like thrift shops and more vintage stores, you can get high waist jeans, or "pre cut" which would just be high waist shorts, and make them your own! You can bleach them, distress them, add stitches to them-- Whatever! But I had a blast making them, and made like, 4 pairs! You can also buy them, which I forgot to mention. I also have fallen in love with my low cut white Converse shoes which were an inspiration from Harry Styles (1/5 member of One Direction). I saw them on him and thought they were really cool so I got a pair and spite how dirty they are by now, I still wear them everywhere! And lastly, flower crowns. Tumblr intorduced me to these a while ago this summer, and I never thought I'd look good in them, but I grew a love for them. I got my first two, then noticed that I didn't look half bad in it, so I got some more! I do happen to love them, and they're perfect for summer, I think.
I did wear a lot of jewelry this summer, and finally got into it. My three favorite pieces was a cat ring I got from Forever 21 (pictured middle top), a "message in a bottle" necklace I had gotten at Claires (pictured middle top), and an earring cuff that I got as a gift from Tillys (pictured middle top). I really like inspirational pieces of jewelry with crosses, hearts, keys, or Eiffel towers on a chain.
Okay, okay. #CommonWhiteGirl on the loose! Starbucks. Starbucks is one of my addicitions, and this summer was like, just crazy how much I drank strabucks! My favorite drink from there this summer was the caramel ribbon frapè, and of course every summer I love the orange-mango smoothie.
Model inspirations, there are so many! My absolute no-thought-about-it idol is Cara Delevigne (pictured top right). She has been my idol for the past year or so now. I love everything about her too, I think shes a great role model for the most part, and she beautiful, and she's herself. I think that's my favorite thing about her is that she isn't all Prada and Gucci model stereo type. She wears hoodies and jeans and she isn't afraid to go out in public like that. She also has a charming and quirky personality which is so amazing and shes a great inspiration for people to be theirselves no matter who you are.
Music is one of the biggest motivations in my life for pretty much everything. Last year I got really, and when I say "really", I mean really into music. I started out by listening to music I discovered on Tumblr like The XX, and Lana Del Rey (pictured bottom middle), but then I fell back into Paramore who I had been obsessed with when I was about 9 or 10 years old. I then found out about Panic! At The Disco (pictured bottom left), The Kooks, Matt & Kim, Marina & The Diamonds, The Neighbourhood, The 1975 (pictured top left), and I also had taken interest in a little bit of medal-core music and I gained liking of Sleeping With Sirens, Pierce The Veil, & a bit of Bring Me The Horizon.
I had a great summer, got some traveling in my list, went to a One Direction concert, got to do some shopping and all the good stuff that we wait for summer! Let me know some of your favorite summer memories from this year and some of your summer 2013 favorites!
